Fillings, Crowns and Root Canal Treatment
Dental Fillings
Amalgam or silver fillings can make a tooth appear grey and unsightly. Old or worn-out fillings can be replaced by modern, tooth-coloured filling materials, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing finish.
These aesthetic restorations, which are bonded to the tooth, feel very natural and are colour-matched to the surrounding tooth, making them appear almost invisible. We use modern materials, which are expected to last as long as amalgam fillings.
Dental Crowns
For teeth that require very large fillings, a crown or an inlay may be used. A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. Crowns and inlays are created in the laboratory; they are tooth coloured and bonded into place, providing long-term aesthetic results. Crowns can be matched to natural teeth, dental veneers, bridges, and dental implant crowns.
Root Canal Treatment
Sometimes the nerve can become damaged in a tooth, causing pain and discomfort. Root canal treatment is a great way of saving the tooth from extraction. Sounds painful? No, not at all when provided with great anaesthetic or even sedation!
Treatment is usually a 3-step process and can be carried out over one or more visits, depending on the complexity of the case.
